I would like to know if there is a way to switch tabs in Safari with the shortcut used in Chrome (⌘ + ⌥ + Arrow). Right now with OS X El Capitan, you can switch between tabs but just up to the 9th one with ⌘ +. (This functionality is almost identical to Alt-Tab on PCs.) 2. Or, swipe up on the touchpad with three fingers to view the windows of open apps, allowing you to quickly switch between programs. Mar 29, 2019 Step 1, Open multiple tabs in your web browser. To open a tab with your keyboard, press Ctrl+t.1 X Research sourceStep 2, Press Ctrl+Tab ↹ to go to the next open tab.Step 3, Press Ctrl+⇧ Shift+Tab ↹ to go to the previous open tab. One of my favorite features in the Mac version of the Safari web browser is the ability to have multiple tabs open at once. The ability to keep multiple websites open at once is a great time-saver. Here’s how to switch between multiple tabs in Safari, without ever needing to touch your Mouse or trackpad.

Keyboard Shortcut To Switch Between Safari Tabs
So, today, Tony asks: “Stephen, I have Googled and Googled and I just can’t for the life of me figure out how to flick between my open Safari tabs using the keyboard. Please help!”.
I decided to Google “How to switch between open Safari Tabs” and clicked on the first link.
This is what is told me…
When you have multiple tabs open in Safari, the keyboard shortcut ‘Command (Apple Key) & Shift & [‘ will tab towards the left, whereas ‘Command (Apple Key) & Shift & ]‘ will tab towards the right.

Selecting the ‘tabs’ menu in Safari preferences can also give you a useful list of tab features to enhance your web browsing as you can see below.
Some extra keyboard shortcuts to make yourself even that more productive when using Safari can be found in the table below. Remember, the less you use the mouse for operations and the more you use your keyboard, the quicker you will become at browsing the web!

Safari Switch Tabs
Even though iCloud isn’t perfect, it has proven to be extremely useful when syncing content from your Mac to iOS devices. An example of this is Safari bookmark and tab sync via iCloud. Mac and iOS users can have their Safari tabs automagically sync between devices via iCloud servers. While Safari sync may be useful, the option is a bit hidden within the Settings app on your Mac and iOS devices. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to enable bookmark syncing on both your Mac and iOS device.
iPhone/iPad
Enabling bookmark sync on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch is quite simple. Just make sure you’re signed into an iCloud account on your iOS device and navigate to the Settings app. Once you’re in the app, scroll down until you see the iCloud option. Tap it.
Towards the center of the iCloud menu, you’ll see an option labeled Safari. Switch the on/off slider to the on position. Once you’ve done this, take a look at the Bookmarks bar within Safari on your iPad. You should notice that an iCloud Tabs option has been added to the list. You can access your synced tabs via this menu. If you’re on an iPad, look towards the top of your Safari window, and you should see an iCloud button. Tap on this button to view your synced Safari tabs.

To enable iCloud sync on your Mac, launch the System Preferences app and click on the iCloud button. Look towards the center of this window and check the checkbox located next to the Safari tab. Like on the iPad, your synced Safari tabs will be located towards the top of the Safari window and can be accessed by clicking the iCloud button.

There you have it. All your tabs should be syncing across your OS X and iOS devices.
